Trim levels on the 2022 GMC Yukon

GMC’s high-end, large luxury SUV is better for 2022 than ever. Produced in four different trims, it comes with three engine options, and enough interior room to sit up to nine passengers.

Today we’ll take a look at Yukon’s trims in detail, but before we do that, let’s talk a little bit about its engines.

2022 Yukon’s engine options

The standard engine is a tried-and-true 5.3-liter V8 that will produce 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It’s standard on the SLE, SLT, and AT4 and it comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission plus RWD.

The first upgrade is a 6.2-liter V8 that can belt out a whopping 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It’s available only as an option on the AT4 trim and comes standard on the Denali.

Finally, there’s also a turbocharged diesel in the form of the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. It’s optional on the SLE, SLT, and Denali and will deliver 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It too comes paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission.

And now on to the trims.

The 2022 Yukon SLE

Yukon’s base model is dubbed the SLE and starts at a little over $50,000.

For that money, you get the 5.3-liter V8 engine plus a plethora of standard features that include LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, proximity keyless entry and push-button start, an eight-person seating configuration (2-3-3), a huge 10.2-inch color touch, a digital instrument cluster, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Forward Collision Mitigation, and the Lane Keeping Assist system.

There are also some options available on the SLE, most notable of which being the GMC Pro Safety package that includes the Blind-Spot Monitor system and the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

On top of that, you can also choose a nine-passenger seating configuration on the SLE by going for the Front-row bench seat.

The 2022 Yukon SLT

The most popular Yukon trim is the SLT. Falling right in the middle of the lineup, it offers great value for money as it includes all the standard features listed under the SLE, plus the GMC Pro Safety Plus package, 20-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system, and a wireless charging pad.

To up the luxury level of the SLT, buyers can add the optional SLT Luxury package that includes perks such as driver’s seat memory settings, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard second-row seats, a power-folding third row, and a surround-view camera system.

The 2022 Yukon AT4

The AT4 was designed for off-road enthusiasts and so it makes sense that it comes with AWD only.

It’s also the first trim that unlocks the 6.2-liter V8 and it includes many of the standard features of the SLT trim plus unique front fascia to improve the Yukon’s approach angle, dark gray wheels with all-terrain tires, front tow hooks and skid plate, a heavy-duty air filter, adaptive suspension dampers, Hill Descent Control, driver’s seat memory settings, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard second-row seats, and a power-folding third row.

It too has some optional packages such as the:

  • Technology package
    • Surround-view camera system
    • Head-up display
  • Premium Capability with Active Response 4WD package
    • Air suspension
    • Electronic limited-slip differential

The 2022 Yukon Denali

The height of luxury, the Yukon Denali has it all.

Order it and you get most of the AT4’s features, including the Technology package as standard plus a state-of-the-art 14-speaker Bose audio system and second-row bucket seats.

But even the ultimate Yukon trim doesn’t have it all, with plenty of optional extras available such as:

  • Advanced Technology package
    • Adaptive cruise control
    • Digital rearview mirror
    • Advanced security system
    • Rear automatic emergency braking
  • Denali Premium package
    • Advanced Technology package
    • 22-inch wheels
    • Panoramic sunroof
    • Power-retractable side steps
  • Denali Ultimate package
    • Denali Premium package
    • Max Trailering package
    • Rear-seat entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch display screens
    • Air suspension
